The best time to buy a memory foam mattress is when your current mattress is worn out. Usually that means about 5 years in. The most asked question when people are shopping for memory foam is if they need to buy the whole memory foam mattress or if they can just opt for the memory foam mattress pad. With the mattress pad, it may be a cheaper option but your current mattress has to be in a fairly good state.

If your current mattress is really worn out, then there is no point in getting a memory foam mattress topper because if you put that on top of your sagging mattress, you’ll still feel the whole bed sagging. The sure sign of an extremely worn out mattress is if it feels like you’re sitting in a lawn chair.

Whatever you do, don’t buy a memory foam pillow top because the materials used in these are usually made from cheaper ingredients. They are not that reliable and could break down easily. If you can’t afford a whole mattress, then a topper pad will do and you can replace it when it wears down.

Memory foam mattresses are definitely the way to go because of several reasons. It will provide the ultimate comfort experience unlike anything you’ve felt before. It has long term health benefits by contouring your body and aligning your spine to make sure you’re sleeping in a good posture.

If you’re in the market for a memory foam mattress, you should go for one which has high quality foam. This usually means sticking with the big brands because they are of higher quality and won’t wear down as easily. Make sure the foam is of high density too.

The optimal thickness for memory foam mattresses is 5 to 6 inches. This will provide enough depth for you to actually feel the magical sensation of memory foam. It’s also the optimal depth for your spine and body to feel comfortable.

Before you run out and buy a memory foam mattress on the internet, make sure you know what you’re buying. The greatest disadvantage to buying online is that ou can feel firsthand what it feels like to lie in that mattress.

This is advised time and time again; its to walk into the store and try it out for yourself. Sleep in it if you can! That’s the only true way you can experience it and the only way you won’t regret your purchase months down the road.
