If you are carrying a child and in your first three months of pregnancy you shouldn’t use an electric blanket. According to studies you can cause birth defects to your unborn child.
Make sure you don’t leave your blanket on high while you are asleep because it could cause a fire. Keep it on low while you are asleep and always turn it off before you leave your house. If you need to warm up your bed, turn it on but do not leave your house with it on because it can start a fire.
It is wonderful to turn your blanket on and have your bed warm before you climb into bed to sleep. This saves you from climbing into a cold bed. Electric Blankets are not very much money and are worth the price.
You shouldn’t put an electric blanket on a child that cant talk because it can cause them severe burns and by the time they cry it could be too late. Check your wires on your blanket on a regular bases to ensure that none of the wires are bare. If you find any wires that are bare, throw your blanket away and get a new one.
You take a risk at getting electrocuted if you do not make sure that your wires are covered on your blanket. To be safe you should get a new blanket every year. Even if you just use it ten hours a day for two to three months.
If your blanket ever quits working, never try to repair it yourself. Always go buy a new blanket to ensure you don’t have a fire when you use your blanket. They are made and tested in a factory to ensure that you do not ever have a fire if guidelines are followed.
It is very easy to find your favorite color and very easy to find an electric blanket. During Christmas it is very easy because they make great gifts. And if you wait until after the holidays then you can find them for a great price. Always follow all directions that come with your blanket to ensure that you are using it right and that you and your family is safe from fires.
